Terms and conditions
All customers will be required to read and sign the following terms and conditions:

-
The guide prices are based on the time required to groom a well-behaved, regularly groomed dog with a coat in good condition.
-
Please ensure you arrive on time for your appointment; arriving late may incur a late fee. Arriving more than 15 minutes after your appointment time may result in your appointment being cancelled and a full charge being taken.
-
If you cannot keep your appointment, please provide a minimum of 48 hours’ notice; last-minute cancellations will result in the booking fee being withheld. Less than 24 hours will be the full price of the groom.
-
Please ensure your dog has had a chance to exercise and toilet before your appointment.
-
During the appointment, depending on the dog’s behaviour, I may need to use aids/restraints such as nooses, belly straps, calming cradles, muzzles, etc. These are all to help the dog and groomer complete the groom safely and will not harm the dog or the human. All prices are subject to change at any point within reason, dependent upon many factors, such as dog coat type/length/amount of matts/behaviour/time required to complete the groom. The estimated price is for a well-behaved/well-groomed dog who poses no problems or threats to the groomer. However, Groomyz reserve the right to refuse to groom any dog that displays aggressive behaviour.
-
If a dog’s coat is severely matted, Groomyz will act in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006. Groomyz reserve the right to perform a complete clip off of the dog’s coat if the matting is severe enough.
-
If a complete clip-off is needed, Groomyz will try to notify you before doing so. However, if I cannot contact you and I believe the clip off is necessary on welfare grounds, I will still undertake to clip off the coat.
-
Groomyz reserve the right to refuse to groom any dog that we deem too severely matted to safely carry out a clip off of the coat.
-
The Puppy Groom package is designed to introduce a dog to the grooming process; a positive outcome or full groom is not guaranteed
-
If you fail to disclose any allergies or skin conditions, Groomyz will not be held responsible for any irritation, patchiness, abrasions, or hair loss that may result from the grooming process. Therefore, Groomyz is not responsible for any veterinary fees that may occur.
-
If you fail to disclose information regarding any physical and/or medical conditions (such as elbow or hip dysplasia, epilepsy, etc.) Groomyz will not be held responsible for any injury incurred during the grooming process.
-
Groomyz will not subject any dog to unacceptable levels of stress. If, during grooming, your dog finds any part of the process too stressful, that part will not be completed. If Groomyz cannot complete the groom, price reductions may be implemented.
-
If your dog is found to have fleas, your dog will be sent home immediately, and you will still be charged for the time.
-
If your dog requires urgent medical attention while in our care, Groomyz reserve the right to seek veterinary attention; any fees incurred will be payable by the dog’s owner.
-
An approximate collection time will be agreed with you when you leave your dog with me; however, I will call you approximately 15 minutes prior to pick-up time to confirm. Please contact me if you are going to be late. Late fees apply if more than 15 minutes after the agreed time. This is charged at £5 per 15-minute window.
-
I (You, the customer) agree to pay for all grooming services immediately after completion of my dog's groom.

GROOMYZ MATTED RELEASE POLICY

Removing matted hair is necessary. When a coat becomes matted beyond the point of brushing or combing, the most humane method is to shave the matted hair. Shaving may seem severe, but it is the fastest and least stressful way to groom a matted pet.
He/she may be nicked and/or cut because of the tightness of the matting and the need to work so closely to the skin to remove the coat. In the case of some dogs, protection from the sun/cold may be required after clipping for as long as it takes for the coat to re-grow to a protective length. All possible care will be taken, but the possibility of injury exists. By signing this form and leaving your pet for grooming, you acknowledge that you are aware of the condition of your pet's coat, any possible pre-existing issues, and the risk of clipping a matted coat, as stated above, and you give Groomyz permission to proceed. Groomyz is not responsible for injuries sustained due to the condition of your pet's coat.
Matted coat because of the following problems:
-
Skin irritation caused by dirt, dander, and parasites trapped under matted hair.
-
Sores and hair loss: as matts get tighter, they eventually pull out the skin, causing bald spots and sores.
-
In severe cases, maggots can infest skin sores.
-
It is not uncommon to find pre-existing conditions, such as hot spots, sores, and other skin issues, once the matted coat is removed. There is a chance that your pet’s skin may become irritated from being clipped so close.
-
Ear bruising or hematoma bleeding due to excessive head shaking after removal of mats can occur.
-
Because the procedure takes extreme care and extra time, there will be additional charges depending on the severity of matting.
I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD THE ABOVE.

-
I hereby release Groomyz from any responsibility for the above-mentioned shaving process and any issues that may arise or be discovered during said procedure. I agree to pay all charges of said procedure should my pet require vet care during or after the procedure.
-
I authorise Groomyz to provide necessary treatment for my pet, and I agree to pay all Veterinary fees.

Where there is a small amount of localised matting and tangles, we will consider brush-outs on a case-by-case basis.
